THE KING’S SPEECH

December 22, 2010

We would like to close this term with a genuinely British film. Not only does this film depicts recent history, it also offers to all the English students the relief of seeing a native working hard to improve his oral skills. Do you remember sweet Eliza Doolittle (played by Audrey Hepburn) trying to talk, while chewing beads at the same time in “My fair lady” 1964? Then compare this scene with the memorable performance of the role of Queen Elizabeth’s father by Colin Firth.
